The Office of Regulatory Services (ORS) falls within the Justice and Community Safety Directorate and is responsible for regulatory and support services that aim to protect the public interest in key areas including:

• worker safety;
• driver and vehicle licensing;
• parking amenity;
• identity security;
• title guarantee;
• fair trading; and,
• consumer protection.

The ORS provides support for evidence based policy making via the provision of accurate and reliable data sets for the community, industry and government.  The ORS also regulates many industries, occupations and activities that cover a wide range of businesses, single traders and employees in the A.C.T.

In support of our commitment, we have developed a series of framework documents that in conjunction with the Canberra Plan and government priorities directs the activities of the ORS on an ongoing basis.  This includes:

• the ORS Annual Plan 2011-2012 – our priorities.
