HAWKERS
A hawker is any person who sells or offers to sell goods carried on his or her person or on a vehicle. All hawkers in the ACT are bound by the ACT Hawkers Act 2003, which details penalties for breaches of the Act.
A person must hold a Hawker's Licence if trading in a location for longer than 30 minutes. The only exception is where a person is trading within the boundaries of an established marketplace or fair, in which case permission is required from the manager of the venue.
