Charitable Collections
Groups (companies, associations, unincorporated bodies) wishing to raise money for a charitable purpose must be licensed if they intend to collect over $15,000 in the Territory in any given 12 month period.
Charitable Collections are licensed under the Charitable Collections Act 2003. The Charitable Collections legislation aims to:
- Promote proper management and administration of charitable collections;
- Ensure proper record keeping and auditing of accounts for charitable
collections; and
- Ensure that the public has access to information about charitable collections.
