Applying for a Charitable Collection License

If the body applying is an unincorporated body, an executive officer of the body will be required to apply on behalf of the body. They Will be known as the 'Nominated Person'.

It must be understood that the nominated person for an unincorporated body is the licensee for the purposes of the Charitable Collections Act 2003.

The person is required to complete an 'Application for a Charitable Collection Licence' in accordance with section 21 of the Act. The unincorporated body is required to consent to the nominated person being the licensee on behalf of the unincorporated body. The Chief Executive will not approve a licence if the nominated person does not have the consent of the body to hold the licence.

Applying for a Licence if the Applicant is an Incorporated Association or a Company.

If an incorporated association or a company applies for a charitable collection licence it will be necessary for the entity to complete an 'Application for a Charitable Collection Licence', according to section 21 of the Act.

While the entity is applying in its own legal capacity to hold the Charitable Collection licence, it is also important that the entity provide the details of a person who will be the main contact between the entity and the Office of Regulatory Services.
