Upon registration of a business name in the A.C.T. copies of documentation relating to the business name are accessible.  You may apply for copies of documents or extracts of business names registered in the A.C.T. by completing a Search Request and paying the prescribed fee.

You may apply for your search:

• over the counter at the Office of Regulatory Services;
• by fax to (02) 6207 0487;
• by email to ors.bil@act.gov.au; or,
• by post to the Office of Regulatory Services.

If you wish to fax, email or post your search request, please ensure the credit cardholder has signed the search request authorising the credit card to be debited the correct fee amount.

If you wish to see whether a business name is likely to be available for registration, you may search the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) website for all company names and State and Territory business names at the National Names Index.
