Deaths
The registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages records all deaths that occur in the Australian Capital Territory.
The Registry uses the details from the death registration record to produce a ACT Death Certificate. Funeral directors are responsible for registering the death within seven days of the burial or cremation.
These records are highly confidential and are maintained in a secure environment. Access to these records is subject to an access policy, whereby access is restricted to those people who are considered to have an entitlement to access certain types of information.
