Births
The Births Unit records all births that occur in The Australian Capital Territory. The Registry uses the details from the birth registration record to produce a Birth Certificate. Parents are responsible for registering the birth of their child within 60 days of the child's birth.
These records are highly confidential and are maintained in a secure environment. Access to these records is subject to an access policy, whereby access is restricted to those people who are considered to have an entitlement to access certain types of information.
